AONB’s and development – presentation by Adam Royle 11th August, 3.30pm

You are invited to attend a  free presentation by Adam Royle, National Trust Senior External Affairs Adviser, who worked on the recently published report ‘AONBs and Development’. The Government’s commitment to protect AONBs is clear, but the National Trust research found some problems with how safeguards to prevent inappropriate development are being implemented in some places. The report goes on to make a series of recommendations to improve current practice.

The key finding of this important report was that despite National Planning Policy stating that AONBs have the highest status of protection in the planning system, planning policies for AONBs are often not being correctly interpreted, applied and followed.
